Modeling: Heavy Vehicle Suspension
Challenge:
Next generation EV has a radical suspension setup for such a heavy vehicle class.
Solution:
Created highly complex front & rear vehicle subframes (stamped steel weldments & fabrications) and motor mounting system (press-brake steel weldments), sized and analyzed heavily loaded bolted joints.
FEA (Structural Analysis): Heavy Vehicle Suspension
Challenge:
Subframes and subframe interfaces need validation for complicated loading scenarios associated with road abuse loads, payload variations, towing scenarios, and motor torque.
Solution:
Performed analysis of highly complex front & rear vehicle subframes (stamped steel weldments & fabrications). Analysis involved both 3D and 2D meshing, plus bolted joints and contacting interfaces.
High Accuracy Liquid Dispenser
Valve Prototyping
Challenge:
New dispenser needs exterior shell, door, valving, PCB housing, drip mitigation.
Solution:
Created a multitude of injection-molded plastic parts to assemble a high-tech and innovative chemical dispenser. All injection molded parts designed for mass production and optimized for tool release to minimize tool actions and costs.
Challenge:
Liquid control valve needs cable actuation and signal notification.
Solution:
Created a pivoting cable actuator, then 3D printed and assembled a prototype of with electro-magnetic sensing, performed extensive testing and documentation.
